DESCRIPTION:On Thursday Nov. 3\, Roger Cohen\, a New York Times columnist\, will join Todd Myers from the Washington Policy Center\, to discuss both a liberal and conservative perspective on the current presidential election race. The panel\, free and open to the public\, starts at 6 p.m. with a reception at 5 p.m. Both events will be held in the McIntyre Music Building. Cohen was raised in South Africa and England and started working for the New York Times in 1990. He became the paper's foreign editor on Sept. 11\, 2001 and oversaw the Times' Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage in the aftermath of the attack. Since 2009 he has worked as a twice-weekly columnist for the paper\, focusing many of his columns on international affairs and politics. He is the author of several books and has co-written a biography of Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf. Myers is director of the center for the environment for the Washington Policy Center\, a free market think tank based in Seattle. He is considered one of the nation's leading experts on free-market environmental policy and is the author of "Eco-fads: How the Rise of Trendy Environmentalism is Harming the Environment."
