SUMMARY:CWU Celebrates Pride Week
DESCRIPTION:It's that time of year again to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community\, and CWU is set to host a week's worth of events for CWU Pride Week Monday\, May 25 through Friday\, May 29. Pride is a nationally recognized movement in celebration of lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer\, intersex\, asexual and ally culture with annual events scheduled in cities and communities across the globe. A wide range of events are planned for CWU\, from professional lectures to drag shows. \n\n \n\nA full list of CWU Pride Week events are as follows:\n\n \n\nAll Week\n\n \n\nQueer Feminism Partition/Pride Week Partition\n\nSURC\n\nAll Day\n\n \n\nMonday\, May 25\n\n \n\nField Day\n\nA wide variety of competitive sporting activities and games as a fun way to kick off Pride Week\n\nCWU Barto lawn \n\n10 a.m.   2 p.m.\n\nSpectators are free\, participants are $2/person or $10/group\n\nPre-registration open and available online at http://www.cwu.edu/equal/pride-week-field-day-registration\n\n \n\nTuesday\, May 26\n\n \n\nNeville Hoad: "Drag & the Pedagogy of the Normal Lessons from Botswana's Miss HIV Stigma-Free Beauty Pageant"\n\nA lecture on the history and cultural impact of Botswana's Miss HIV Beauty Pageant\, where all of the contestants are open about being HIV positive.\n\nCWU Black Hall 151 \n\n4 p.m.\n\nFree\n\n \n\nBlock Party\n\nA festival-style block party with activities\, campus clubs and organizations\, and a wide array of companies/organizations.
