SUMMARY:CWU Celebrates Pride Week: Singer-songwriter & transgender motivational speaker Ryan Cassata
DESCRIPTION:It's that time of year again to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community\, and CWU is set to host a week's worth of events for CWU Pride Week Monday\, May 25 through Friday\, May 29. Pride is a nationally recognized movement in celebration of lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer\, intersex\, asexual and ally culture with annual events scheduled in cities and communities across the globe. A wide range of events are planned for CWU\, from professional lectures to drag shows.\n\n \n\nOne such event of note is a live performance by Ryan Cassata\, singer-songwriter and transgender motivational speaker\, who will combine music and activism to highlight the transgender community Wednesday\, May 27 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Theatre. This event is free and open to the public. \n\n \n\nCassata is a transgender male who has been speaking publicly about Gender Identity Disorder\, Transgenderism and bullying\, and his own personal transition from female to male.
