DESCRIPTION:Halloween may be known as a day for fun costumes and candy\, but it also coincides with Dia de los Muertos\, or ?Day of the Dead\,? a day to honor the lives of those who have passed. Join the CWU Center for Diversity and Social Justice (CDSJ) for Dia de los Muertos celebrations Thursday\, Oct. 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. in CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) room 137 A&B. As part of the celebrations\, Professor Jason Dormady will give a speech on the importance and cultural significance of Dia de los Muertos. There will also be sugar skull decorating\, Mexican folkloric dancing\, poetry reading\, face painting and live music. There will be prayer altars in the Museum of Culture and Environment and the Randall Hall art display from Wednesday\, Oct. 29 through Friday\, Oct. 31.
