DESCRIPTION:Join the CWU Wellness Center Wednesday\, Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Pit for the ?In Your Genes? fashion show. Models will walk the runway wearing their favorite piece of denim or jeans and will be offered the opportunity to showcase their differences. Celebrating individuality\, this event strives to provide students a chance to express their unique beauty. Through a brief personal essay\, participants will tell their stories ? struggles and success ? about how they became comfortable in their genes/jeans. Attendance to this event is free and open to the public. Through events like the ?In Your Genes? fashion show\, the Wellness Center strives to raise awareness among CWU students regarding issues that affect emotional\, physical and mental health. By shining a light directly at these unspoken societal problems\, they hope to encourage dialogue and discussion and fight perpetuating stigmas and pressures.
