SUMMARY:Fire and Ice in the PNW
DESCRIPTION:Do you want to time travel? Look no further! Join us at the Museum of Culture & Environment for a look into the past by delving into the depths of fire and ice!\n\nCWU professors Susan Kaspari from Geological Sciences and Megan Walsh from Geography help us envision the future of climate change in the Pacific Northwest by looking into the past. Susan's research examines the impact of black carbon (commonly referred to as soot) on the melting rates of glaciers and seasonal snowpack. Megan's research explores how ancient charcoal deposits can help us understand past fire activity. Taken together\, their work can help us understand the complicated relationship between humans\, fire\, ice/snow\, and climate change.\n\nLight refreshments will be served. Event is on Tuesday\, November 14\, 2017. Begins at 5:30 pm in Dean Hall Lobby.\n\nWhere to go for more information: Amason@cwu.edu or Bethkel@cwu.edu\n\nThis event is free and open to the public.
