DESCRIPTION:Labor leader and civil rights activist Cesar Chavez is a figure representing a significant era in American history\, and on Wednesday\, April 22 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Theatre\, the Center for Diversity and Social Justice (CDSJ) will offer a free screening of his biographical film ?Cesar Chavez? to the public as part of Cesar Chavez/Dolores Huerta week. An American farm worker\, Chavez led the farm worker?s movement of the 60s and 70s for equal rights and fair pay and\, along with Dolores Huerta\, co-founded the National Farm Workers Association\, which later became the United Farm Workers (UFW) union. His legacy is one of iconic status\, symbolizing organized support and activism for farm workers and the Hispanic community. In addition to the ?Cesar Chavez? screening\, the CDSJ will host a variety of other events between April 20 and April 24 in honor of C sar Ch vez/Dolores Huerta week.
