DESCRIPTION:For his famous\, award-winning poetry\, Eduardo C. Corral will be visiting Central Washington University on Oct. 18th. From noon to 1 p.m. he will host a craft talk in Black 151 titled\, "The Triggering World: Using the Senses to Generate Language." Later that evening\, starting at 7:30 p.m. he will read from his award-winning book of poetry "Slow Lightning" in the Student Union and Recreation Center Ballroom. Praised for his seamless blending of English and Spanish\, tender treatment of history and careful exploration of sexuality\, Eduardo C. Corral has received numerous honors and awards\, including the Discovery/The Nation Award\, the J. Howard and Barbara M.J. Wood Prize\, a Whiting Writers' Award and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Corral is visiting as part of CWU's annual social justice dialogue on immigration and migration. This event is sponsored by CWU College of Arts and Humanities\, CWU Department of English\, CWU Center for Leadership and Community Engagement\, CWU Center for Latino and Latin American Studies\, Department of World Languages and Cultures\, Karen Gookin and the Wildcat Shop.
