DESCRIPTION:CWU Theatre Arts is bringing the 2001 Nisqually Earthquake to life on stage at Central with "One Day in Cascadia: The Nisqually Earthquake Stories" as part of the First Year Experience (FYE) program at CWU. Attend the performance and relive the experience of the quake Thursday\, Nov. 6\, at 7:30 p.m. at the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Theatre. The event is free and open to the public and as part of FYE\, CWU freshmen are encouraged to attend.\n\n \n\nAlso referred to as "The Ash Wednesday Quake\," the Nisqually earthquake rocked the Puget Sound area and the rest of Washington on February 28\, 2001\, becoming the largest recorded earthquake in Washington State history. Directed by Jay Ball and the students of Central Theatre Ensemble\, "One Day in Cascadia" combines a stage reading of stories from the earthquake with interviews\, research materials and additions from social media shared during the quake to create a one of a kind stage experience.
