SUMMARY:Run Like the Wind
DESCRIPTION:The Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility is hosting Run Like the Wind Festival\, the second annual 5K\, 10K\, half marathon and full marathon. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Washington Trail Association and Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance to promote sustainable trail building and outdoor education. Run for Good Racing Company\, in partnership with PSE\, has mapped out this scenic race course woven along the trails\, paths and roads of the majestic wind turbines of our wind facility outside of Ellensburg. These races will be challenging but gorgeous\, with views of Mt. Rainier\, the Columbia River and the Eastern Washington plains. Get a guided tour of the wind facility either before or after your race and see the awesome power of the wind. This is a trail run\, be prepared for a rough and rocky course. The 5k and half marathon take place on Saturday\, June 7th\, and the 10K and full marathon take place on Sunday\, June 8th. Sign in begins at 8:30 am both days. Volunteers are needed to support race participants\, parking\, course set up\, water stations\, first aid\, and the finish line party celebration.
