DESCRIPTION:The CWU Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE) will host Tea at 3\, an engaging speaker series at CWU. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from the personal experiences of CWU faculty\, staff\, community members and influential individuals across the state as they share their journeys to their current places in life. Attendance to each speech is free\, and speeches will be held at 3 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Pit. Warm beverages and treats will be available for attendees to enjoy while the speakers give their talks.\n\n \n\nThe Tea at 3 Speaker Series welcomes Rosalinda Guillen\, the co-founder of and Executive Director for Community to Community (C2C)\, a grassroots organization committed to empowering under-represented peoples\, developing cross-cultural awareness and working to achieve equal human rights for all\, located in Bellingham\, Wash. Guillen has worked intimately with farm workers across Washington state in organizing campaigns to increase the value of farm worker unions and rights. From 1993 to 1995\, Guillen was involved in helping farm workers at Chateau Ste. Michelle\, Washington's largest winery\, to organize and unite for workers rights. Following that\, Guillen went on to serve in many United Farm Workers (the nation's first successful farm workers union) organizing positions\, including the organization's Northwest Regional Director and National Vice-President.  \n\n \n\nThis event is part of the CWU Cesar Chavez-Dolores Huerta Week celebrations.\n\n \n\nFor more information\, please contact the CLCE at 509-963-1850 or clce@cwu.edu.
