SUMMARY:Towns to Teanaway Corridor Project – Final Public Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Kittitas County Park and Recreation District No. 1 is holding the third and last public meeting regarding the Towns to Teanaway Corridor (TTC) Project.  The TTC is an effort to develop a non-motorized trail system that connects Ronald\, Roslyn and Cle Elum providing access from each to the Teanaway Community Forest via Cle Elum Ridge\, with trailheads and signed routes originating in each community.  \n\n\n\nThe goal for this meeting includes public input and discussion of the draft master plan map that has been developed by JA Brennan (landscape architects).  This draft master plan was created based on the results of a 19 month planning process.  Two prior public meetings\, alternative plan development and review\, numerous meetings with stakeholders\, public comments and outreach and private landowner engagement have all coalesced to bring us to this point in the planning process.\n\n\n\nThe public is invited and encouraged to attend   we want input from the community!  Your suggestions and concerns are important to us.  \n\nWhen:  August 29\, 2018 at 6:30pm.  Meeting concludes at 9:00pm.\n\nWhere: Putnam Centennial Center\, 719 East Third Street\, Cle Elum\, WA\, 98922   main function hall.\n\nCookies and coffee provided!\n\n\n\nProject Goals:\n\n	Create a world-class non-motorized trail system providing trail experiences for all abilities and fitness levels\n	Develop well constructed\, sustainable and low-maintenance trails\n	Promote environmental stewardship\n	Create a recreational corridor between the towns of Roslyn\, Ronald and Cle Elum and the Teanaway Community Forest\n	Partner with private landowners to ensure compatibility with the plan and enhance access to the trail system\n	Access to viewpoints at the top of Cle Elum Ridge\n	Create a volunteer based trail network support group\n	Increase the visibility of the trail system\n	Identify organizations/groups that will help us with construction and implementation\n	Develop trailheads and parking\n\nCreating a recreational corridor to connect these communities to the Teanaway Community Forest is an important undertaking that will benefit the people\, economy and wildlife of the region for generations to come.The funding for the master plan and design portion of the project has been secured through grants and private donations from the community.
