AWRA Presents screening of Documentary Film ?DamNation?
The American Water Resources Association (AWRA) will present a screening of the documentary film ?DamNation? Wednesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Theatre. This event is free and open to the public. ?DamNation? directors Ben Knight and Travis Rummel take viewers on a journey across America and explore the shift in national perspectives towards big dams from the pride of yesterday to the growing concern of the future health of our rivers. The film explores the removal of obsolete dams and the river systems that these removals benefit, including ecological benefits such as the return of salmon and other wild fish to primeval spawning grounds. Join CWU and the AWRA for a cinematic exploration of man, nature and the relationship between the two while also enjoying a featured documentary film of award-winning caliber. For more information please contact the Dan Pittenger at the AWRA at 802-441-4189 or dan_s_pittenger@yahoo.com. The ?DamNation? film screening is sponsored by the AWRA.
