Celebrate Nelson Mandela: ?Mandela and the South African Transition: A Roundtabl
The Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE) wants to celebrate what would have been 24 years since Nelson Mandela was released from prison by hosting ?Mandela and the South African Transition: A Roundtable? Tuesday, Feb. 11 in Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) 135 at 5:30 p.m. This roundtable discussion will include CWU English professor Bobby Cummings, History professor Lacy Ferrell, Religious Studies professor Geraldine O? Mahoney, Theatre director Jay Ball, Anthropology professor Mark Auslander and Associate Dean of Student Life Keith Champagne. This event is free and open to the public. Often referred to as ?the father of the nation,? Mandela has received more than 250 honors in his lifetime including the Nobel Peace Prize and the US Presidential Medal of Freedom. In the aftermath of his death, he is still praised for his greatness. Join the CWU community to celebrate his life and remember a man who has made history for decades.
