Lion Rock Visiting Writers Series: Author Kevin Sampsell
The Lion Rock Visiting Writers Series at CWU welcomes Kevin Sampsell, a Portland based novelist, essayist and publisher. The series brings writers of many disciplines to CWU, where the writers not only share their work, but also interact with and inspire their audiences. Sampsell will read from his vast collection of published works Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the CWU Wildcat Shop. The reading is free to attend and open to the public, and Sampsell?s books will be available for purchase. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet Sampsell after the reading and ask him questions about his work and accomplishments. For more than twenty years, Sampsell has been the publisher of Future Tense Books, a micropress that he operates in Portland, where he also works at the world-famous Powell?s bookstore. He has published a short story collection, ?Creamy Bullets,? a memoir, ?A Common Pornography,? and his most recent full-length work, a novel titled ?This is Between Us? which was published in November of 2013. Sampsell?s stories and essays have appeared in such prestigious publications and websites as ?Salon,? ?The Rumpus,? ?McSweeney?s,? ?Tin House,? ?Best Sex Writing 2012? and ?Best American Essays 2013.?
