Live Music at CWU: An Evening with Penny and Sparrow
Rock/folk band Penny and Sparrow is set to perform at CWU Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Pit. Admission is free and open to the public. Previously roommates, Andy Baxter and Kyle Jahnke put their talents together to create Penny and Sparrow. The duo can be compared to American indie-folk band Bon Iver and English folk-rock band Mumford & Sons. The band released their first full-length album, ?Tenboom,? last year using a Kickstarter protect and were able to raise over $5,000 thanks to some very supportive and devoted fans. With music that steers away from overly produced gimmicks, Penny and Sparrow?s sound focuses on rich harmonies and intimate lyrics to draw in listeners.
