Peseid Meteor Shower & Star Party
Join Puget Sound Energy alongside the CWU Astronomy Club for a viewing of the Perseid Meteor Shower from the Renewable Energy Center patio. Come enjoy the views, activities, and meteors! Arrive by 10pm, our gates will close for entry shortly after. You may leave anytime, our gates will open for exit.
What to bring: Blankets, warm clothes, snacks, binoculars, telescope, and your friends & family! We will provide chairs, drinks, snacks, and a telescope to share

8-10PM KID ACTIVITIES
Marshmallow constellations, nebulas in a jar, & constellation viewers.
8:30-9:30PM TWILIGHT TURBINE TOUR
Take part of the rare opportunity to tour a wind turbine as the sun dips behind the horizon.
10PM-2AM STAR PARTY
The Perseid Meteor shower will have an “outburst” this year, which means up to twice the number of meteors! 100+ meteors per hour are predicted.

Take University Way through Ellensburg, and continue east on to the Vantage Highway for 16.5 miles. Look for the arch and sign at the crest of the ridge. Head north on Beacon Ridge Rd for 3 miles to the visitor center.
