Screening of Documentary Film ?Fed Up?
Have you ever taken a bite of food and wondered what?s really in it? To help people educate themselves on healthy eating, CWU will present a screening of ?FED UP,? a 2014 documentary that examines the food industry and unearths the truth about sugar consumption and the damage it causes, often to people who don?t realize how much sugar is in their food. ?FED UP? aims to motivate viewers to educate themselves about the importance of dietary awareness and the dangers of imbalanced nutritional habits, and will be shown Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in Black Hall room 150. Attendance is free, and attendees will be invited to take the Fed Up Challenge, a pledge to go sugar free for ten days. Produced by TV journalist Katie Couric and Oscar-winning producer Laurie Lennard, ?FED UP? is an examination of America?s obesity epidemic and the food industry?s role in perpetuating the problem. The documentary features interviews with Oprah Winfrey and Bill Clinton, among others, and aims to expose the factors behind the decline in the general state of health in America. Take control of your health and join CWU for this educational and entertaining event. Challenge yourself and take the Fed Up Challenge! This event is sponsored by the CWU Public Health Program, CWU Physical Education School and Public Health Department, CWU Pre Nursing Club, CWU Wellness Center, and the CWU Student Medical and Counseling Clinic.
