Wild Hacks hackathon at Hal Holmes Community Center
The denotation of a computer hacker is someone who exploits weaknesses in a computer network’s security. In today’s context, hacking can mean strengthening a computer’s features, removing weaknesses or seeking a deep understanding of computer knowledge. To assist in the positives of computer hacking, the CWU Startup club is hosting Wild Hacks, central Washington’s largest “hackathon” Friday, May 29 from 5 to 11 p.m. and Saturday, May 30 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hal Holmes Community Center, located at 209 N Rugby St. in Ellensburg. The event is free, open to the public and includes free pizza courtesy of Pizza Collin.
Wild Hacks “hackathon” is an event for attendees, both technical and non-technical, to create an application of their choice in the time allowed. At the end of the event, the applications will be presented then judged based on these criteria: Ability to articulate the use of the app, idea originality and technical difficulty of the implementation. Spectators are also welcome.
