For example, in 2015, Community Survey results showed that 74.6 percent of respondents felt marijuana use among youth was a moderate or serious problem.
The CPC was formed in the fall of 2011; it includes participation from schools, business, media, law enforcement, public health, youth-serving organizations, mental health providers, treatment providers, civic organizations, city and county government, youth, parents and volunteers from our community. The mission of the coalition is to work to together to grow healthy, resilient, engaged families in Upper Kittitas County.
CPC is part of the Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative (CPWI). CPWI was started to provide substance abuse prevention services through local coalitions. It is a community and school-based model for providing prevention programs to reduce underage abuse of alcohol, marijuana, opioids, tobacco, and other drugs.
