DESCRIPTION:Is your dog a couch potato? Does their butt wiggle so fast when they see you that the whole house shakes? If so\, they could be a winner at Dachshunds & Friends on Parade held June 22\, 2024 in downtown Ellensburg.\n\n \n\nThis beloved event\, now in its 21st year\, welcomes all dog breeds to compete in races\, costume contests\, and trick competitions. This year\, events have been expanded to model the American Rescue Dog Show\, including Best Couch Potato\, Best Ears\, Best Wiggle Butt\, Best Talker\, Best Belly Rubs\, Best in Special Needs and Best Senior. Dachshunds will also have their own category for racing\, as they are the foundation for this event.\n\n \n\nYou can register your dog to compete at www.josiesmisfitranch.org/dachshundsonparade\n\n \n\nThe event is hosted by Josie's Misfit Ranch\, a local animal rescue that specializes in helping rehabilitate and finding homes for animals wounded in body and spirit   focusing on all animals can do despite injuries\, trauma or history. All proceeds will go to their mission of saving animals. Sponsors include Valley Veterinary Hospital\, Ponderosa Construction and Club 301. Ellensburg Pet Center is providing all entries with a goodie bag. It's a great opportunity to have fun with your family and see all the cool stuff dogs can do!\n\n \n\nDue to construction at Unity Park\, the event will move one block away from it's usual location to Pine Street between Third and Fifth streets. Registration will be located in the parking lot of Fourth and Pine. The fun starts at 9 a.m. for people to gather their race numbers and check out all the amazing dog-centric vendors. A parade down Pine Street will start at 10 a.m.\, and competitions go from 10:30 a.m.   1 p.m. \n\n \n\nVendors and sponsors are still welcome.
