The Ellensburg Downtown Association is pleased to bring you the 3rd Annual Buskers in the Burg.  Starting on Friday evening for the adults enjoy a Wine/Beer Walk at 5:00 pm followed by a Variety Show at 7:30 pm, featuring John Keister of Almost Live,  Alex Zerbe, The Aerial Angles, and the Nick Foster Band.  Ticket are on sale at buskersintheburg.com

The whole family is invited to join us on Saturday for a Giant Puppet Art Parade, Children's activities featuring bounce houses, pony rides, straw maze, chalk art, and pumpkin painting, farmers market, buskers (street performers) and stage performers of all kinds.  Be sure to vote for your favorite busker.  Festivities and fun continue into the evening with a concert by the Bog Hoppers and Open Country Joy.  Saturday events are all ages and free.

busk•er, n. \‘bəs-kər\ one who plays music or otherwise performs for voluntary donations in the street or in subways. ORIGIN mid 17th cent.: from obsolete French busquer ‘seek,’ from Italian buscare or Spanish buscar, of Germanic origin. Originally of nautical use in the sense of ‘cruise about’ or ‘tack,’ the term later meant ‘go around selling,’ hence ‘go around performing’ (mid 19th cent.).
