More about the WA State Department of Commerce Employer-Supported Child Care Technical Assistance Program/Family-Friendly Workplaces:
Since 2018, a diverse stakeholder group, WA Child Care Collaborative Task Force has been working on reports and recommendations. The employer-supported child care technical assistance program was one of their recommendations supported and funded by WA State legislature. The program is in its first phase of development and seeks to gain feedback and insights from the Kittitas County leadership and employers. Please also find the attached program description.
This program is dedicated to:
-Understanding the impact of available and affordable child care on our local, regional and state economies,
-Making the business case for employer-based solutions for their own workforce who have child care needs,
-Providing tangible resources, tools and professional business consultations at no-cost to employers, and
-Supporting the assessment and consideration of which family-friendly policies and practices may be beneficial for individual employers.
