In honor of Martin Luther King Day, the Center for Diversity and Social Justice will host a Civil Rights Display Tuesday, Jan. 21 through Friday, Jan. 24 all day long in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC). The Civil Rights Display will recreate the 1950-1968 Civil Rights years through a life size exhibit demonstrated through pictures, personal stories and video footage of individuals that fought against racial segregation in America. There will be several exhibits of segregated lunch counters, fountains, bus terminals and schools that will allow the community to get a better understanding of the ?Separate but Equal? laws during the Civil Rights years. For more information contact Michelle Cyrus at CyrusM@cwu.edu or 509-963-2128.
