College Civics Week: Block Party/Live Music Thursday, May 9 5 to 8 p.m. CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Ballroom Free Central will host a College Civics Week Block Party, featuring live music from Seattle-based indie-pop band Hey Marseilles. Attendees can also mingle with representatives from civic engagement organizations at this free event, and everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the festival atmosphere. Of all the musicians who have performed at Central, perhaps none captures the spirit of the Northwest as vividly as Hey Marseilles. They have opened for The Lumineers, performed at the Bumbershoot Music Lounge and the Broad Street Stage and been featured multiple times on NPR. This summer they are conducting a tour that will reach locations from The Newport Folk Festival to Lollapalooza. Don?t miss the chance to enjoy their one of a kind show and be a part of their rapid rise to national fame.
