In remembrance of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the impact of his life and work, the CWU and Ellensburg communities are invited to join together for a peace march and annual MLK celebration on Thursday, Jan. 14. Students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community are welcome to gather in the SURC Pit at 3:30 p.m. for refreshments and the beginning of the peace march. The march will continue throughout campus and finish in the SURC Theatre at 4 p.m. where the participants will hear a message from Dr. Michael Harrod, associate professor of Sociology, as well as enjoy student, choir and spoken word performances. Join us in remembrance of Dr. King, one of the greatest figures of the civil rights movement.
