CWU Monday Movie Madness Presents: Les Miserables (10pm)
MONDAY MOVIE MADNESS: "Les Miserables" Movie buffs and musical fanatics rejoice, CWU Campus Activities will present the international phenomenon "Les Miserables" Monday, April 1 at 10 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Theatre. Attendance is free for CWU students with their connection cards and only $3 for general admission. This film version of the much revered musical takes place in 19th century France and follows the story of ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert. After he breaks parole, Valjean agrees to care for a factory worker's daughter, Cosette. The fateful decision changes their lives forever. In this timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and broken dreams bring audiences on a moving and unforgettable journey. "Les Miserables" was nominated for eight Oscars, including Best Picture. The landmark film won three, including Best Supporting Actress Anne Hathaway.
