Josie’s Misfit Ranch Halloween party and Annual Pet Costume Contest
Whether you love to dress up, decorate pumpkins, or enjoy a good scare, Josie’s Misfit Ranch (JMR)’s Community Halloween Party has something for every age group.
Sponsored by Independent Auto Repair, the event will be held this year at the Kittitas County Fairgrounds Draft Horse Barn from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. All proceeds will benefit Josie’s Misfit Ranch, a non-profit animal rescue serving Kittitas and Yakima counties.
The party itself is geared towards family fun, with pumpkin decorating (pumpkins and craft supplies provided), coloring, and a variety of Halloween-themed games sponsored by T-Mobile in Ellensburg.
Party-goers can also get their face painted, or enjoy S’mores by the fire pits. Puff Puff Pizza will also have their truck there and will be donating 10 percent of its proceeds to the ranch. Live entertainment will be provided by local dance groups The Dance Barn and Ellensburg Dance Ensemble.
For those who are brave enough, there will also be a terrifying haunted house sponsored by HandyMat Home Repair featuring live scarers, state-of-the-art animatronics and special effects.
We take pride in having the scariest haunted house in Kittitas County!
In conjunction with the Halloween Party, Josie’s Misfit Ranch is also hosting a pet costume contest with prizes awarded to the winners as voted on by the public. Winners will also be featured in Josie’s Misfit Ranch 2026 calendar. People can submit photos of their pets in costume online at www.josiesmisfitranch.org. No AI photos are allowed, and the photo must be of your pet, not someone else’s. Submissions will be accepted through Oct. 24, with voting online from Oct. 25-Oct. 31. Winners will be announced Nov. 1.
