What do Disney movies have in common with superhero smash hits? Mathematics! The CWU Douglas Honors College (DHC) will host Dr. Michael Dorff, professor of mathematics at Brigham Young University (BYU) and sought after mathematics expository speaker, for a presentation entitled ?Movies and Math ? the Past, Present and the Future.? Dorff?s presentation will convey how important and integral math has been in the making of everyone?s favorite Hollywood blockbusters, and how mathematics will play a role in the future of the film industry. The community is invited to attend this free presentation on Friday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. in the CWU Science Building room 147. Using examples from the animated films ?Frozen? and Pixar?s ?The Incredibles,?
