Natalie Gelman Concert
With a voice that's been described as a cross between Sheryl Crow and Carole King, Natalie Gelman is proof that starting out a musical career in a subway can lead to record deals. This singer/songwriter is set to perform Wednesday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the SURC Pit, showcasing both her original music and popular covers at this free concert. Gelman?s first tour started in a very unusual way. In 2005, she decided to rollerblade from Miami, where she was attending the University of Miami, to her hometown of New York City. During the 1,500-mile adventure, Gelman held concerts in many towns along the way, raising money for the non-profit Children International. Since then, Gelman has produced two albums and been featured in many newspapers and magazines, including ?Billboard? and ?The New York Times.? Her music has also been featured in the ?Songwriters Hall of Fame? CD for their new writers showcase. For more information visit www.nataliegelman.com.
