Old Fashioned Barn Dance at the Swauk-Teanaway Grange
On Saturday, November 16, we?re going back in time to the era when Barn Dances were held to bring rural communities together for an evening of music, dancing and socializing. Lem Pratt and The Cascade Rangers will be on stage at the Grange with tunes going back to the 30?s, 40?s and 50?s when radio stations across the country featured country and western music artists such as Bob Wills and The Sons of the Pioneers. This five piece band will remind us of the old-time country music and western swing many of us remember from our youth. They?ll also feature popular country hits from the 60?s and 70?s from performers like Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash right up to current artists George Strait and Alan Jackson. Doors open at 6:30 pm for a Finger Foods & Dessert Potluck and the Band comes on stage at 7:00 pm. Cost is $7 admission, kids 12 and under are free, bring an appetizer or dessert to share. This is a family-oriented event and one that you?re sure to enjoy. The hall is located at 1361 Ballard Hill Rd, about 8 miles NE of Cle Elum near the intersection of SR 970 and Teanaway Rd.
