Roller Derby: The Thaw Brawl

Ellensburg, Wash. — Don't miss out on the excitement – Rodeo City Roller Derby invites you to come be a part of the cheering crowd as we heat up the track and kick winter to the curb! RCR returns to the track at 5 p.m. Feb. 24 at Ellensburg High School. Get ready for some hard hits, action-packed jams, and smooth strategy, all on four wheels. Rodeo City Roller Derby will take on Dockyard Roller Derby’s Undertow Team from Tacoma, Wa. You'll see some new faces and some returning favorites take the track. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., bout starts at 5 p.m. Tickets for the bout can be purchased online at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/6235882 in advance for $5 or at the door for $10. Children 5 and under are free. This marks RCR's second bout of the season, kicking off a jam-packed schedule of planned bouts, both at home and on the road, all the way through June. About Rodeo City Roller Derby Rodeo City Roller Derby (RCR), formerly Rodeo City Rollergirls, was formed in September 2010, and is the original amateur flat track roller derby league in Central Washington. Roller derby is a full contact, aggressive competitive sport played on quad skates. Today RCR has over 50 members including skaters, referees and non-skating officials. Recruitment for skaters and volunteers is ongoing. RCR is also offering a free Roller Derby 101 training from March 5 to April 9.
