Run4Ryann 5k/3k fundraiser

Everyone is encouraged to register for the Run4Ryann 5k run/3k walk Saturday, April 13 at Ellensburg High School. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the race starts at 10 a.m. All donations and proceeds will go to Ellensburg's Sparrow Club recipient Ryann Thurman, a 7-year-old born with a disease that interferes with her skull growth, to help purchase a mini-van with a wheelchair lift to allow for proper transportation. Registration is $15 for the 5k run, $25 with a t-shirt, $10 for the 3k walk and $20 with a t-shirt. Registration and donations are being accepted at www.run4ryann.org, Utopia Frozen Yogurt, located at 706 E. University Way, and Bank of the West, at 312 N Ruby Street. Most children are born with flexible skulls, but Thurman was born with a fully hardened skull, which doesn?t allow her to develop properly. Mobility issues are becoming a greater strain on her parents and the family is in need of a reliable van with a wheelchair lift since she is too big to carry. Proceeds will also help pay for gas as the family regularly travels to Seattle Children?s Hospital. Sparrow Clubs USA is a youth-based charity that not only provides financial and emotional support for critically ill children and their families, but also empowers kids to help other kids through charitable service in their community.
