The Lion Rock Visiting Writers Series at CWU never fails to attract successful writers of many different styles. As one of two scheduled performers for Winter Quarter, author and poet Karen Finneyfrock promises to draw a crowd with her dynamic personality and engaging performance. Her books, including her second book of poetry ?Ceremony for the Choking Ghost,? will be for sale at her reading courtesy of the Wildcat Shop. Come and see the fresh side of poetry Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Theatre. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Before Finneyfrock?s reading, a slam poetry competition will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the SURC Pit. The winner will have the chance to read his or her poem before Finneyfrock performs.
