Songwriting Lab

Strengthen your craft. Explore your voice. Tend your creative spark! This 5-week guided experience is designed to help you write 4 fresh, original songs. Each week, we'll dive into songwriting techniques & creative tricks, then you'll receive a creative prompt to spark ideas for your next tune - due the following week (because nothing gets the Creative Juice flowing like a friendly deadline!) We will creating together in a supportive, low-pressure space led by singer/songwriter & MME Director Jan Jaffe alongside award-winning songwriters sharing their own favorite tips, tools, & methods. *Thursdays, 6:30-7:45pm *October 2nd-30th, 2025 *$100 for 5 weeks (ask about CWU student discount) Open to musicians of all kinds ages 15+ - you just need some way to play chords & sing along (guitar, ukulele, piano, autoharp, or even the GarageBand app). You do not need to know how to notate music or anything about music theory, but do get familiar with basic chords on your instrument before October. (We have private lessons for that.)
