Black athletes, determination, ice. When first-time director Damon Kwame Mason screened his documentary film ?Soul on Ice? at the 2015 Edmonton International Film Festival, he walked away with an impressive People?s Choice Award. Now, it?s time to show the film to the masses, and Mason is doing just that by bringing his film to Central Washington University for a free screening on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Theatre. Dr. Keith Champagne, associate dean for Student Development, will provide opening remarks for the film along with Mason, who will also take questions immediately following the screening. This event is sponsored by: Campus Activities, Campus Life, Africana Studies and the Museum of Culture and Environment
