Valley-to-Valley Winemaker's Dinner
The Valley-to-Valley Winemakers’ dinner features 6 courses all inspired by wines produced by winemakers who source their grapes from vineyards that span Walla Walla and Ellensburg. From beet labneh, to crispy duck-style congee, to black garlic potato croquettes dappled with soubise, to chard tartlets, you and your guests will get to experience a truly global menu developed by Chef Michael. Wines featured will include both a sparkling and still Pinot Noir from Breezy Slope at the foothills of the Blue Mountains; two beautiful high-acid and clean white wines, a Sémillon and a dry Riesling; an energetic Mourvèdre; and a luscious Tempranillo from Columbia Valley. A collaboration between Gallery One and Helen House / Trans Rural Lives, funds from this event will support these community organizations. We hope you’ll also join us for the wine sale on the 26th, where you’ll be able to purchase some of these tremendous wines at special prices. Our featured winemakers are: Devium Devium is an expression of care and thoughtfulness in Washington winemaking, featuring minimalist winemaking that explores the outer edges of Washington wine. Winemaker Keith Johnson works closely with the vineyards he sources his grapes from, and the result is wines that are full of joy and vitality. Itä From winemaker Kelsey Itämeri, Itä only sources grapes from the eastern foothills of the Blue Mountains in Walla Walla, which results in lighter-bodied wines with racy acidity; Kelsey’s low-impact winemaking style ensures you can taste the grapes as they were meant to be enjoyed, producing wines that are both fun and restrained. RAM Cellars Based in Portland, winemaker Vivianne Kennedy’s RAM Cellars is grounded in an ethos of community care, and works with sustainably-managed grapes from vineyard sites in Oregon and Washington to produce small-batch, lower-intervention wines. These are some truly special wines that help round out the spirit of the Valley-to-Valley experience, and will bring a beautiful minerality and freshness to any meal or occasion.
