It’s been here since spring quarter, and it’s about time we gave our wildcat statue a wildcat welcome. James Gaudino, Central Washington University president, and Ryan Anderson, Associated Students of CWU (ASCWU) Student Government president, will preside over an official dedication ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 on the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) East Patio.
Festivities include free treats, music from 88.1 The ‘Burg, and a shout out to the CWU Class of ’65 members who are here for their 50th reunion. Following the ceremony, at 12:15 p.m. the CWU Marching Band will lead the way to the fan zone at Tomlinson Stadium for the Homecoming football game against Humboldt State University.
The bronze wildcat statue was sculpted by Mathew Palmer of Friday Harbor, and was officially open to the public and students of CWU spring quarter 2015.
