As a way of bringing attention to the stigma and stereotypes surrounding drug addiction, the CWU Wellness Center will host two screenings of the documentary Anonymous People. Everyone is welcome to attend the free screenings on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 7 at 4 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Theatre. The documentary film identifies and challenges the way addiction has been treated by society. 23.5 million Americans are living in long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. Deeply entrenched social stigma and discrimination have kept recovery voices silent and faces hidden for decades. Anonymous People tells the story of addiction through the eyes of those who have experienced it first hand.
