County to Hold Public Hearing
Kittitas County Community Development Services will hold a public hearing before the Planning Commission on November 9, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in the County Auditorium at 205 West 5th Avenue in Ellensburg. The hearing was originally scheduled for November 8 but was changed due to elections.
The County annually reviews its Comprehensive Plan and County Code to determine if changes need to be made to meet current conditions and situations. This year the Planning Commission and, eventually, the Board of County Commissioners are hearing seven different items for consideration to amend the County Code and Zoning Map. Specifically, the County will examine:
1. Requiring a second access for proposals resulting in more than 30 lots
2. Recognizing private easements when considering setbacks for buildings
3. Placing requirement to maintain private open spaces in new developments
4. Allowing additional uses within the County, including Manufactured Home Parks in urban growth areas.
5. Not requiring TDRs in rural areas for affordable housing proposals.
6. Eliminating the exemption for political signs
7. Making a map correction to the zoning map north of Cle Elum.
Those wishing to to testify or provide information to the Planning Commission for consideration can come to testify or write their comments to the Department of Community Services at 411 N. Ruby, Ellensburg, 98926.
