Now in its sixth year, Cranksgiving, the annual bouldering competition at CWU, invites rock climbers of all skill levels to participate in the competition at the Climbing Wall Friday, Oct. 24. There will be two sessions at this year?s competition: one from 5 to 7 p.m. for the public, and one from 7 to 9 p.m. for CWU students only. Adults and children, ages six years and older who must be accompanied by an adult, are invited to attend. For CWU students, Cranksgiving is a chance to show off rock climbing skills, or get involved with the sport for the first time. Participants of all skill levels are welcome, and Climbing Wall staff will be on hand to guide and assist competitors as they take on the Wall, one of CWU?s most admired features. Registration is $35 after Friday, Oct. 17 and will be accepted up until the morning of the event. Registration materials are available at Outdoor Pursuits & Rentals (OPR), located in the far east corner of the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC), by phone at 509-963-3537 or email at outdoorpursuits@cwu.edu.
