The CWU Center for Diversity and Social Justice (CDSJ) Black Film Series premiers tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Black Hall room 151 with a screening of director Norman Jewison's "A Soldier's Story." This event is free and open to the public. Featuring a young Denzel Washington as an African American officer in World War II as he confronts racial tensions in the American deep south, this critically acclaimed film earned nominations for Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes in 1985.
