CWU Choirs Spring Concert
CWU Choirs Spring Concert May 2, 2008 Contact: Gary Weidenaar, (509) 963-1616, fax: (509) 963-1239, e-mail: gary.weidenaar@cwu.edu ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The CWU choirs will present their spring concert on Sunday, May 11 at 4 pm in the Music Building Concert Hall. The Central Singers, conducted by Master?s candidate Katrina Rooney, will sing music of Morten Lauridsen and Alice Parker. The Men's Choir will honor Mother?s Day with a beautiful arrangement of the tune, When I fall in Love, among other works. The Women's Choir will sing arrangements by their conductor, Vijay Singh, as well as works by Fauré and Canadian composer Eleanor Dale. Central's premiere choral ensemble, the Chamber Choir, will close the concert with music of Frank Martin, Stephen Paulus, Moses Hogan and the lovely Serenade to Music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, which will feature 15 student soloists. The Chamber and Men's Choirs are conducted by CWU Director of Choral Studies, Dr. Gary Weidenaar The 90 minute concert is free.
