CWU Homecoming Entertainment Headliner: Musician Phillip Phillips
Platinum-selling singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips is set to bring his rootsy brand of rock-and-roll to Central as the entertainment headliner for CWU Homecoming 2014, with Portland musician Christian Burghardt opening. Everyone is invited to attend Saturday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Ballroom. Tickets are $20 for CWU students w/ID, $30 for general admission and $40 for reserved seating. Tickets are available at www.cwu.edu/tickets, and are selling fast; so, don?t hesitate to buy now. Since winning season 11 of ?American Idol,? 24-year-old Phillips has sold more than 2 million albums and 9 million singles. He is best known for the quadruple-platinum hit ?Home,? which was released the same day he was crowned ?American Idol.? The song marks the most successful coronation song of any ?Idol? winner, as well as the highest debut on the ?Billboard? Digital songs chart. ?Home? is also featured on Phillips? first album ?The World from the Side of the Moon,? which has been noted for its emotional variety and appeal to fans of rock and pop alike. Recently, Phillips has toured with Matchbox 20 and has opened for John Mayer on Mayer?s ?Born and Raised? tour last summer.
