CWU Horn Studio to Present an Afternoon of Variety
The Central Washington University Horn Studio will present its winter recital, to feature student soloists, small ensembles and large groups, including the CWU Horn Ensemble, on Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. Styles will range from Mozart to Freddie Mercury. Of particular interest will be two new works, one by Douglas Hill that includes a medley of Civil War tunes, and another by Swiss composer Christophe Sturzenegger that parodies the music of Tchaikovsky and Astor Piazzolla. For horn aficionados, this promises to be enjoyable afternoon of good music in many styles. The concert is free and will be held in the CWU Music Building Recital Hall. Persons of disability may make arrangements for reasonable accommodation by calling (509) 963-1226 or (for hearing impaired) TDD (509) 963-2143.
