CWU Kairos String Quartet to Present Annual Valentine's Day Concert
The program includes audience favorites such as Mozart's ?Eine Kleine Nachtmusik? Puccini's "O mio babbino caro" and Pachelbel's enduring Canon in D. For the classical music aficionado, the quartet will perform selections from string quartets by Mendelssohn, Dvorak and Brahms; more popular tastes will be treated to a passionate tango by Piazolla and an arrangement of the jazz standard "Stolen Moments." Selected poetry will be read, as well as audience members contributed love notes. Don't be surprised if a few cherubs show up to hand out chocolates! The Wednesday, Feb. 11 concert begins at 7 p.m. in the CWU Music Building Concert Hall. Persons of disability may make arrangements for reasonable accommodation by calling (509) 963-2023 or (for hearing impaired) TDD (509) 963-2143.
