Dia De Los Muertos Celebration
Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a traditional Mexican two-day celebration following Halloween that is recognized and admired by many Hispanic and non-Hispanic cultures alike. It is a day to honor the lives of those who have passed, and the CWU Center for Diversity and Social Justice (CDSJ) would like to invite everyone to join their celebrations Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Ballroom. Participation in all events is free and open to the public.
The event will include free food, live music performed by Yakima band Jilgueros de Michoacan, crafts, face painting, a photo booth, and a costume contest where pre-registered participants will be dress as iconic characters for Day of the Dead celebrations.
