Evergreen Wanderers X-Country Ski / Snowshoe Event

So the holidays are over and you're trying to figure out what to do huh? Well, it's time to pull out your x-country ski's and showshoes, call a few friends and head on up to the Iron Horse Inn in South Cle Elum for this annual event sponsored by the Evergreen Wanderers Volksport / American Volksport Association. It's Free for the general public and $3.00 if you are ''marching'' for credit through the Volksmarch organization. This is a self guided event with signs posted. Start time is from 8am-1pm on Saturday and 8am-Noon on Sunday. Finish time is 4pm Saturday and 3pm on Sunday. X-Country Ski: Rated 1 Ski on level Iron Horse Trail past the old power house station, along Tilman Creek and the Cle Elum and Yakima Rivers. An outstanding beginner's ski trail. Distance is 10km (6.2 miles) Showshoe: Rated 1 Walk on level Iron Horse Trail East past two ponds with great views of Cle Elum Valley. A nice and easy trail. Distance is 10km (6.2 miles)
