Family Literacy Night Provides Read-A-Louds, Snacks and Free Book to Community Youngsters
On April 18 and May 3, CWU students and children in the CWU/Ellensburg community will gather for the Family Literacy Night in Brooks Library room 288 from 6 – 7 p.m.
Non-traditional CWU students with children are encouraged to attend this event, as well as children of faculty and staff members and children in the community. CWU literacy students read with the children, and juice and popcorn are available for snacking. At the end of the event, children are invited to pick out a free book. Michelle Cyrus, Program Manager at the CWU Center for Diversity and Social Justice, stated that this event is a great way for young children to learn about what is offered at community libraries. Not only can youngsters check out books, but they can also get involved in social gatherings and special events!
