Flutist Anne LaBerge and Scientist David LaBerge Present ''Resonant Dendrites''
On Thursday, March 12, flutist/composer Anne LaBerge and scientist David LaBerge will present a free program entitled "Resonant Dendrites" in the Central Washington University Music Building Recital Hall at 7 p.m. The program is co-sponsored by the Music and Psychology departments. Anne LaBerge is a flutist and composer living in Amsterdam. She utilizes live improvisation, interactive electronics and enigmatic storytelling as elements in her compositions and performances. Her father, David LaBerge, is a senior neuropsychologist living in Tacoma, Wash., and former faculty member of the University of California-Irvine, the University of Minnesota and Simons Rock College. He has published his findings on apical dendrite activity in cognition and consciousness. ?Resonant Dendrites? is a lecture and performance by the LaBerges using text and film excerpts. It will be collaboration between musician and scientist seeking to discover creative explanations for recent neuropsychological findings.
